Abstract: Stereoscopy is a technique that enables three-dimensional (3D) visualization from two-dimensional (2D) images acquired from different viewing angles, providing the perception of depth and spatial relationships. This study investigated the creation of stereoscopic image pairs using images obtained from the free Google Earth Pro software and drone imagery, with the aim of producing low-cost stereoscopic pairs for science communication. Six areas characterized by rugged terrain in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, were analyzed: Morro do Ernesto, Morro do Paxixi, Parque Natural Municipal Templo dos Pilares, gullies located in the municipalities of Bandeirantes and Figueirão, and a quarry in Rio Verde de Mato Grosso. The images were acquired with 60% overlap between consecutive photographs in Google Earth Pro and 70% overlap for the drone images, values considered suitable for the generation of stereoscopic pairs. The stereoscopic pairs were subsequently printed and analyzed using both mirror and pocket stereoscopes. The stereoscopic pairs with the best three-dimensional visualization were presented to the general public during the GeoDia outreach event held at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), where a questionnaire was administered to 48 participants to evaluate the perception of three-dimensionality and the interpretation of landforms. Among the participants, 85.4% identified the landforms with ease or great ease, indicating that three-dimensional visualization enhanced the spatial perception of the landscape. It is concluded that the proposed methodology enables the production of low-cost stereoscopic images and has considerable potential for science communication activities in the Geosciences.

Abstract: The evolution of geotechnologies has consolidated GNSS as an essential tool for high-precision georeferenced surveys. The objective of this study was to compare the technical and operational performance of three GNSS methodologies: L1 single-frequency post-processing, L1/L2 dual-frequency post-processing, and the RTX real-time correction service, in a controlled area with five reference benchmarks. The methodology involved field surveys using all three systems, data processing in TOPCON Tools software, and comparative analysis of quality parameters, precision, accuracy, and operational efficiency. The results demonstrated that RTX showed the best operational performance, with reduced average tracking time, a higher average number of tracked satellites, and horizontal precision between 0.018 m and 0.036 m at the evaluated vertices. The L1/L2 solution achieved millimeter-level precision under favorable conditions but presented limitations under vegetation cover. The L1 solution showed greater variability, with horizontal precision of up to 2.154 m at vertex M1, indicating higher sensitivity to local tracking conditions. It is concluded that, under the conditions evaluated in this case study, RTX technology showed better operational performance and results compatible with georeferencing applications, provided that the limitations imposed by vegetation cover, signal obstructions, and the need for validation of critical points are observed.

Abstract: This study analyzed the process of population aging in the municipality of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, highlighting the socio-spatial impacts and the challenges for urban planning and public policies aimed at the elderly population. The research was developed through a bibliographic and documentary review, using data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), PLANURB documents, and studies on aging, public health, urban mobility, and accessibility. The results show the growth of the elderly population in the state capital and demonstrate that aging occurs unevenly across the territory, reflecting socioeconomic differences among urban regions. Challenges related to access to health services, public transportation, accessibility, and the maintenance of public leisure spaces were also identified. It is concluded that population aging requires long-term urban planning and the expansion of public policies capable of ensuring social inclusion, quality of life, and adequate access to urban services for the elderly population.
