Abstract

This study aims to analyze and propose improvements to the reverse logistics process of an automotive sector distributor responsible for returning engine and component cores to the factory for remanufacturing. The research was developed from a diagnosis of the current process, which revealed traceability failures, lack of automated control, and dependence on manual checks, resulting in delays and asset losses. Production Engineering tools such as process mapping, Ishikawa Diagram, and 5W2H action plan were applied to identify root causes and propose an optimized model. The new structure suggests automating deadline control in the ERP system, applying the FIFO logic, and creating performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous monitoring. Expected results include reducing the non-return rate, improving compliance with return deadlines, and strengthening the sustainability of the reverse supply chain. The study contributes to operational efficiency and strategic management of reverse logistics in the automotive sector.
