DJAMILA RIBEIRO: UM CASO DE EXPERIÊNCIA, ANCESTRALIDADE E FELICIDADE NAS NARRATIVAS NEGRO-BRASILEIRAS

Abstract

The themes of ancestry and memory are, in a way, recurring when one begins to study cultures in general. The aim of this research is to provide academic visibility to black-Brazilian literature and its ancestry, seeking to expand beyond the literary canon and to value its authors, in an attempt to break away from coloniality and narratives of pain, through a connection with ancestry, using as its corpus Cartas para minha avó (2021), by Djamila Ribeiro. The analysis is presented through bibliographic research and accounts of experiences. Thus, this work is guided by books, scientific articles, and printed or online magazine publications that help build the black-Brazilian identity in literature and the characters analyzed, taking into consideration the discussions concerning the black-Brazilian literary corpus. The discussions of Abdias Nascimento (2016), Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (2019), Djamila Ribeiro (2018; 2019; 2021a; 2021b), Leda Maria Martins (2021a; 2021b), among others who contribute to the reflection, are highlighted.
