Olhar, sentir e criar: imagem e criatividade nas aulas de arte

Título: Olhar, sentir e criar: imagem e criatividade nas aulas de arte
Abstract: This educational material was developed from pedagogical experiences conducted with a 9th-grade class at Escola Municipal Professor Wilson Taveira Rosalino, in Campo Grande (MS), within a research project carried out in the Professional Master's Program in Arts (PROFARTES), linked to the Graduate Program in Arts at the Faculty of Arts, Letters and Communication of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (PPGARTES/FAALC/UFMS). The investigation sought to understand how image interpretation can stimulate the creative process in art education, valuing students’ sensitive perception while respecting their trajectories, repertoires, and personal modes of expression. To this end, a proposal was developed that encourages image reading, artistic creation, and collective reflection, articulating theory and practice through classroom experience. The activities compiled in this material dialogue with the works of the artist Priscilla Pessoa, whose visual poetics enabled the exploration of contemporary, affective, and imagetic themes with the students. Based on these works, practices were created that integrated listening, invention, and imagination, fostering spaces for constructing meaning from what is seen, felt, and transformed into art. Organized in an accessible and adaptable way, this material is intended for Art teachers, public school educators, and pre-service art education students interested in promoting a vibrant, sensitive, and critical art education. May these pages inspire practices that intertwine popular culture, regional contemporary art, and the expressive universe of students, broadening creative possibilities in the school context.

Título: Aquele menino da obra: arte urbana em Campo Grande/MS
Abstract: The educational material That Boy from the Work: Urban Art in Campo Grande/MS is the result of Fabíola dos Santos Lima’s research in the Professional Master’s in Arts (PROFARTES/UFMS). The proposal articulates urban art, art education, and popular culture, focusing on the practices of graffiti and lambe-lambe, and on the valorization of Black identity within the school context. Inspired by the work of Campo Grande-based artist Leonardo Mareco, the pedagogical intervention was carried out in six sessions with 4th-grade students, combining appreciation, dialogue, and collective artistic creation. A phenomenological approach, grounded in Merleau-Ponty and Antonini de Souza, guided the analysis of experiences recorded in field diaries, seeking to understand how urban art can contribute to inclusive and anti-racist practices in art education. This educational resource offers methodological pathways for teachers, proposing a sensitive practice committed to cultural diversity and to the formation of critical and conscious subjects.
