      <title>FATORES ASSOCIADOS AO ÓBITO POR COVID-19 EM HOSPITAIS PÚBLICOS E PRIVADOS NO ESTADO DE MATO GROSSO DO SUL</title>

      <description>Título: FATORES ASSOCIADOS AO ÓBITO POR COVID-19 EM HOSPITAIS PÚBLICOS E PRIVADOS NO ESTADO DE MATO GROSSO DO SUL
Abstract: To identify factors associated with in-hospital deaths of COVID-19 patients in pub-&#xD;
lic and private hospitals in Mato Grosso do Sul during the pandemic. Methods: A cross-sec-&#xD;
tional study with three-stage sampling using clinical-epidemiological data collected from the&#xD;
medical records of hospitalized patients who tested positive for COVID-19 from 2020 to 2022.&#xD;
Multivariate binary logistic regression was used to estimate crude and adjusted odds ratios.&#xD;
Results: We obtained a sample of 966 patients, with a mean age of 56 years (± 19.7), 53.2%&#xD;
male, 56.4% self-declared as black/brown, and 86.12% hospitalized in public units. In-hospital&#xD;
mortality was 21.9%, higher in the public units (22.8%) compared to 6.4% in the private sector.&#xD;
Variables associated with death were: "presence of comorbidities" (OR = 1.51; 95% CI: 1.01 –&#xD;
2.27) and "clinical spectrum at hospital admission" (severe: OR = 58.26; 95% CI: 20.97 –&#xD;
242.84; Ignored: OR = 12.16; 95% CI: 3.84 – 54.37). Conclusion: Patient severity at hospital&#xD;
admission and pre-existing diseases were risk factors for death, regardless of the type of hospital&#xD;
unit. The higher percentage of patients admitted to public units reflects the overburdening of&#xD;
the Unified Health System, exacerbated by structural, geographical, and socioeconomic ine-&#xD;
qualities.

      <title>EDUCAÇÃO EM SAÚDE NO ALOJAMENTO CONJUNTO: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA SOBRE O TREINAMENTO DE PUÉRPERAS NA MANOBRA DE DESENGASGO NEONATAL</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/13951</link>
      <description>Título: EDUCAÇÃO EM SAÚDE NO ALOJAMENTO CONJUNTO: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA SOBRE O TREINAMENTO DE PUÉRPERAS NA MANOBRA DE DESENGASGO NEONATAL
Abstract: Objective: To report the experience of training postpartum women in the airway obstruction relief maneuver in newborns through a health education intervention in a rooming-in setting. Method: A descriptive study, of the experience report type, conducted by a nursing student in a public maternity hospital in the Midwest region of Brazil, from March to June 2025. The training was carried out at the bedside in an individualized manner for 71 postpartum women and their companions, using a low-fidelity neonatal manikin for demonstration and guided practice. Results: The practical evaluation indicated high immediate efficacy: 76.1% performed the technique correctly on the first attempt, and 100% achieved mastery after a maximum of two repetitions. By the end, all participants demonstrated greater confidence and autonomy in executing the technique. Conclusion: The intervention using a low-cost manikin proved effective in training postpartum women, reinforcing that health education during the puerperium, using simulation, is a viable and impactful strategy to reduce infant mortality risks and strengthen the bond between the nursing team and the family.
