Thru the collection of geo-environmental data, the characterization of the natural and anthropogenic aspects of the Taunay/Ipegue Indigenous Land was carried out, making it possible to transform this information into a pictorial map to facilitate the dissemination of information to the community. The Taunay/Ipegue Indigenous Land is located in the municipality of Aquidauana, 58 km west of the urban area, and has an area of 336.51 km². For the development of the proposal, thematic maps (geology, geomorphology, soils, vegetation, slope, and land use and cover) were created using QGIS software for the geo-environmental characterization of the area. After the characterization, the pictorial map was created. As a result, it was observed that the area has low slope, with a predominance of slopes between 0 and 12%, which correspond to 98.81% of the total area, a condition that favors occupation. Regarding land use, natural vegetation formations predominate, followed by pasture and agricultural areas. The pictorial map created aimed to represent the main characteristics of the area, including natural areas, the location of residences, and cultivation zones, as well as highlighting the regularized area and the extent of the reclaimed areas. In these reclaimed areas, it is possible to observe changes in land use, especially with the introduction of agricultural activities. The study is grounded in Physical Geography in order to understand this concept as an object of investigation, considering the landscape as a central element for interpreting what is visible — that which has been modified and transformed over thousands of years through interactions among natural components and socio-environmental dynamics.To achieve this, the research sought to identify how the Pantanal is described in scientific literature as well as in Geography textbooks approved by the Brazilian National Textbook Program (PNLD). Of the fifteen approved works available for consultation, eight were analyzed. The objective is to investigate how the Pantanal is addressed in the 7th-grade Geography textbooks selected for the 2024–2027 PNLD cycle, assessing whether these materials engage with scientific knowledge. The study also revisits the concept of the Pantanal within the academic literature and identifies which physical-natural and socio-environmental approaches are used to characterize this region. A qualitative bibliographic research methodology was adopted. As a result, it is suggested that seventh-grade Geography textbooks present a more detailed and didactic treatment of the Pantanal theme, especially regarding the understanding of its concept. It is recommended that the common uses of the term be compared with the scientific definitions found in specialized literature, in order to clarify its etymology and broadened meaning, thereby avoiding reductionism and oversimplification given the complexity involved in understanding the Pantanal theme both in academic contexts and in school settings. The Bioceanic Route, considered a strategic project for South American integration, connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through the articulation of Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile, facilitating the flow of production and expanding the continent's access to Asian markets. The relevance of this research lies in the fact that, although the project is presented as a driver of regional development, it also poses risks related to environmental degradation, the exclusion of local communities, and the concentration of benefits. The main objective of this dissertation is to critically and multidimensionally analyze the primary impacts of the Bioceanic Route on the two aforementioned municipalities, located in a strategic region of Brazil’s Midwest border. The methodology combines bibliographic research, document analysis, field observations, and the collection of secondary data from official agencies such as IBGE, DNIT, SEMADESC, and academic institutions. The study adopts a qualitative approach using the inductive method. The results show that the Route may stimulate the local economy, create jobs, and attract investments, especially in the agribusiness and logistics sectors. However, its successful implementation requires integrated planning and effective public policies to mitigate negative impacts and ensure territorial equity. The study also highlights the need for socio-environmental safeguards and multiscale coordination so that the expected benefits are not confined to major urban centers or privileged sectors. This dissertation contributes to the contemporary debate on large infrastructure projects and their effects in border regions, proposing sustainable alternatives for territorial development. This study intended to verify the relationship between family farmers, his insertion of their products in the local commerce and the performance of public bodies like AGRAER (Agency for Agricultural Development and Rural Extension) and the Health Surveillance, responsible for monitoring and encouranging local agro-industries. The central goal is to understand how the production of small farmers contributes for strengthening the local economy, considering specific aspects like institutional partnerships, technical assistance and logistical challenges. For that, qualitative methodology that links bibliographic analysis with case study (field) was adopted, based on a case study with questionnaire application to twenty (20) local farmers, in addition to data collection about agroindustry, products and the number of workers envolved. The results point that producers allocate their production to restaurants, supermarkets and farmer’s market, but a significant part still depends on middlemen. Despite of interest in enlarge partnerships with public bodies, there is resistance about technical assistance, adding up to difficulties with poor roads and the elevated costs of inputs and fuels. In return, the health inspection and the technical follow-up ensure quality standards, strengthening the credibitily of the products in the market. The agroindustrialization of the Eldorado settlement has potential to consolidate itself as vector of development, as long as it is supported by public policies, tax incentives, better infrastructure and strengthening of institutional partnerships.
