    <title>Helmintofauna parasitária de capivaras no Brasil: uma revisão</title>
    <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/9431</link>
    <description>Título: Helmintofauna parasitária de capivaras no Brasil: uma revisão
Abstract: Among the species researched, the following stood out: Echinocoleus hydrochoeri, Strongyloides sp., Protozoophaga obesa, Vianella hydrochoeri, Habronema sp., Monoecocestus sp., Monoecocestus hydrochoeri, Fasciola hepatica, Taxorchis schistocotyle, Hippocrepis hippocrepis and Nudacotyle tertius. Our results show that the parasites Viannella hydrochoeri and Strongyloides chapini were those with the highest number of reports in the literature, as well as the highest prevalence in this host species. The species Taxorchis schistocotyle and Vianella hydrochoeri were considered specific parasites of capybaras, while Fasciola hepatica demonstrated accidental parasitism, with a low prevalence in the researched literature.

    <title>Valorando e valorizando áreas verdes urbanas</title>

    <description>Título: Valorando e valorizando áreas verdes urbanas
Abstract: The green areas in the cities are important in the conservation of urban biodiversity, besides contributing important ecosystem services. Campo Grande is considered  one of the most wooded cities in the world, which can represent an ecological  corridor and influence the local climate. The objective of this study is to compare &#xD;
some green areas of the city of Campo Grande with the metrics of ecosystem  services that are estimated in the i-Tree software, such as sequestration and annual  storage of carbon dioxide (CO2), whose results are converted into Real (R$). Through  the online platform and Google Earth, 11 neighborhoods with 3 squares were  established each, located at least 300 meters from each other. The area of the  squares ranged from 10,21 ha to 0,0768 ha resulting in important carbon  sequestration sites (CO2), with an average of 22,81 tond/year equivalent to R$  23.756,99. Through the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) it was verified that the &#xD;
neighborhoods Centro, São Francisco, Cruzeiro and Amambaí have the highest population density, however, with a lower concentration of carbon, income, Urban Quality of Life Index (IQVU) and US$. Differently the Carandá, Autonomista and Chácara Cachoeira neighborhoods that have a higher concentration of these variables. Therefore, it’s essential that the neighborhoods, somehow, prioritize the local afforestation since it’s benefical for the population by improving the climatic conditions and quality of life.

    <description>Título: Associação entre pardais (Passer domesticus) e variáveis urbanas no município de Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul
Abstract: House Sparrows (Passer domesticus) populations have been negatively affected in various regions of the world because of urbanization process, although in Brazil the factors are still poorly understood. Through standardized sampling, this study aimed to verify the effects of an urbanization gradient on the abundance of House Sparrows in Campo Grande city, Central Brazil. Bird abundance (observation points) and the percentage of urbanized area (impermeable surface) were recorded in 61 hexagons of 16 ha each one. We recorded 897 individuals, with abundance ranging from 0 to 68 individuals/hexagons. We did not find a significant relationship between bird abundance and urbanizing gradient, however, we did detect more birds in areas that exhibit moderate to high gradient levels of urbanization than in those with low gradients. Even for a bird species considered common and adapted to urban conditions, cities can exhibit barriers to the establishment of House Sparrows.&#xD;
Simple architectural techniques such as the establishment of cracks in roofs or&#xD;
management of squares and vacant lots that allow the growth of grasses that&#xD;
produce seeds could contribute to these birds continuing to frequent urban

    <description>Título: Os gêneros Aiouea e Endlicheria (Lauraceae) em Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil
Abstract: This work presents a taxonomic treatment of genera Aiouea and Endlicheria from Mato Grosso do Sul. The work was carried out through the analysis of exsiccates deposited in the CGMS Herbarium and analysis of photographs of exsiccates from other national herbaria. We confirmed for Mato Grosso do Sul two species of each of the genera Aiouea and Endlicheria. Identification keys, morphological descriptions, geographic distribution, habitat, phenological aspects and taxonomic comments are provided.
