    <title>Fitogênicos como substitutos aos antibióticos promotores de crescimento na nutrição animal</title>

    <description>Título: Fitogênicos como substitutos aos antibióticos promotores de crescimento na nutrição animal
Abstract: Industrial poultry and swine production has advanced significantly in recent decades, driven by genetic and nutritional improvements. However, the indiscriminate use of antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs) has created selection pressure on microorganisms, resulting in the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a critical global public health issue. This study aims to review, through a bibliographic survey, the use of phytogenic additives as a strategic alternative to AGPs in animal feed. Phytogenics, bioactive compounds derived from plants, exert multifactorial effects that include antimicrobial, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and digestion-stimulating actions. Comparative studies demonstrate that the use of essential oils and plant extracts can replace traditional promoters such as sodium monensin, maintaining or surpassing satisfactory zootechnical performance in animals. It is concluded that phytogenic additives are promising natural alternatives, capable of favoring intestinal integrity and the sustainability of production systems, aligning with national and international regulatory requirements.

    <title>EFEITOS DO SOMBREAMENTO ARTIFICIAL SOBRE PARÂMETROS PRODUTIVOS, FISIOLÓGICOS DE VACAS MESTIÇAS HOLANDÊS X GIR SOB ESTRESSE POR CALOR</title>

    <description>Título: EFEITOS DO SOMBREAMENTO ARTIFICIAL SOBRE PARÂMETROS PRODUTIVOS, FISIOLÓGICOS DE VACAS MESTIÇAS HOLANDÊS X GIR SOB ESTRESSE POR CALOR
Abstract: Dairy cattle production in Brazil faces challenges related to the tropical climate and the predominantly extensive production systems, demanding strategies that enhance productivity without increasing operational costs. In this context, artificial shading may mitigate the effects of heat stress, particularly in crossbred cows raised on pasture. This study evaluated the effects of artificial shading on milk yield and composition, as well as physiological parameters such as respiratory rate and rectal temperature, in Holstein × Gyr crossbred cows managed under pasture conditions with and without access to shade. The experiment was conducted at the Dairy Cattle Sector of the UFMS Experimental Farm, Terenos/MS, from March to July 2024, using ten cows allocated in five 2 × 2 Latin squares. Each experimental period consisted of 14 days of adaptation and 15 days of data collection, totaling 116 days. Cows were milked once daily at 08:00 h, and individual milk yield was recorded on days 17, 18, and 19. A single milk sample per cow was collected on day 29 for analysis of fat, protein, lactose, and total solids. Rectal temperature was measured from days 20 to 25 at 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, and 21:00. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, with significance declared at p &lt; 0.05. Artificial shading did not significantly affect (p &gt; 0.05) milk production or composition, nor rectal temperature; however, it reduced respiratory rate, indicating improved thermal comfort. It is concluded that artificial shading enhances the welfare of crossbred dairy cows on pasture, even without altering productive performance.

    <title>Perfil dos produtores de leite e da assistência técnica em cidades do Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul</title>
    <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/13501</link>
    <description>Título: Perfil dos produtores de leite e da assistência técnica em cidades do Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul
Abstract: Dairy farming is an activity of great socioeconomic importance for Brazilian agribusiness, standing out for its role in generating employment and income, as well as contributing to food security. However, the sector still faces challenges related to low productivity, inadequate technical management, and the lack of a systematic zootechnical control. This study aimed to analyze the reality of dairy farming in regions of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, with an emphasis on productive characteristics and the challenges faced by producers, as well as to identify areas in which technical assistance professionals can contribute to improving the activity. The methodology was based on the application of questionnaires to milk producers, covering aspects such as production system, herd breed composition, feeding management, and milking method.&#xD;
The results showed that inadequate management, lack of continuous technical assistance, limited use of technologies, and producers’ resistance to adopting new practices negatively affect production efficiency in both regions. In addition, it was observed that zootechnical control is still rarely applied, compromising genetic selection and reproductive planning of the herds.&#xD;
The study revealed the heterogeneity of dairy farming in both states, highlighting structural, productive, managerial, and technological differences, as well as variations in zootechnical management. It was verified that access to technical assistance promotes better organization and the adoption of more efficient practices, reinforcing the importance of training and professional support for the professionalization and sustainability of the dairy sector.
