Título: FATOS EM CONFRONTO - Análise de conteúdo da cobertura dos jornais Midiamax e Campo Grande News das mortes por intervenção policial em Campo Grande no ano de 2024 Abstract: This monograph analyzes how the online newspapers Midiamax and Campo Grande News portrayed, in 2024, the deaths resulting from police intervention in Campo Grande (MS). 177 texts referring to 33 incidents, with 36 victims, were examined using the Content Analysis methodology (Bardin, 1977). The research identified a strong dependence on police versions, recurrent use of the semantics of "confrontation," frequent emphasis on criminal records, and the use of generic or criminalizing referents to designate the victims. The voices of family members and alternative sources appeared in a limited way, and statistical contextualization was rare. The results show a predominantly police-focused, unequal, and uncritical coverage that tends to naturalize police lethality, dehumanize victims, and reinforce state narratives, contributing to the maintenance of practices and perceptions aligned with the militarization of public security and state authoritarianism.
