Abstract: This study aims to analyze access to education in the 17 de Abril Settlement – Teijin, located in the municipality of Nova Andradina (MS), between 2005 and 2025. The research focuses on the difficulties faced by students in attending school, with an emphasis on daily commute, the absence or precariousness of school transportation, and the physical conditions of the route. This is a qualitative study with a historical-social approach, based on interviews with students, former students, and school drivers, document analysis, and field observations. The oral history methodology is used as a way to listen to the voices of the interviewees and understand the meanings attributed to school. Based on the narratives collected, the aim is to identify the challenges faced by families in the fight for the right to education, considering the context of an agrarian reform settlement. The research seeks to contribute to the appreciation of rural voices and to the strengthening of public policies aimed at rural education.

<summary type="text">Título: CONTRIBUIÇÕES ESPANHOLAS E FRANCESAS QUE PRECEDERAM A CHEGADA DA LIBRAS NO BRASIL
Abstract: The trajectory of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), from its European roots to its consolidation in Brazil, reflects a process shaped by pedagogical influences, political challenges, and the resistance of the Deaf community. This research investigates the main Spanish and French contributions to sign language, focusing on the work of key figures such as Pedro Ponce de León, Abbé Charles-Michel de L’Épée, and Eduardo Huet. Based on a qualitative and exclusively bibliographic approach, the study followed a narrative review of historical sources, academic articles, and official documents. As a result, it was identified that the teaching methods developed in Spain and France were fundamental to the formation of Libras, especially through the influence of French Sign Language brought to Brazil by Huet. It was also found that the institutionalization of Libras in Brazil was slow and only gained legislative advances starting in the 20th century. It is concluded that Libras is the outcome of an international historical process and that its recognition and appreciation in Brazil were made possible by the efforts of pioneering educators and the continued advocacy of the Deaf community.
