Abstract: This article analyzes the impacts of the New High School reform (Novo Ensino Médio) on curriculum organization and the teaching of History within the Humanities area, based on experiences developed through the Institutional Scholarship Program for Teaching Initiation (PIBID) and the Supervised Teaching Internship in two public schools in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Grounded in the analysis of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and state regulations, the study discusses the redistribution of instructional time between General Basic Education and Learning Pathways (Itinerários Formativos), emphasizing the reduction of time allocated to History as a subject. This qualitative, descriptive-analytical research is based on participant observation. The findings indicate that reduced instructional time and curricular fragmentation hinder in-depth content development, source analysis, and the consolidation of critical historical thinking. The study concludes that the curricular flexibility proposed by the reform generates tensions that affect students’ general education and the disciplinary identity of History.

<summary type="text">Título: A VIDA NO ROSTO DA MORTE: UM ESTUDO SOBRE O DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS NO MÉXICO

<summary type="text">Título: A “GRIPE ESPANHOLA” (1918-1919) NO BRASIL: UMA ANÁLISE À LUZ DE PERIÓDICOS — IMPRENSA, REPRESENTAÇÕES E IMAGINÁRIO SOCIAL
Abstract: This study proposes an investigation of the Spanish Flu pandemic (1918-1919) in Brazil, with a specific focus on the first year of the health crisis, highlighting newspaper discourse, social reactions, and cultural representations of the pandemic. Based on bibliographical research combined with an analysis of widely circulated periodicals at the time, the study seeks to understand how press discourse contributed to the collective perception of the pandemic, as well as analyzing the measures adopted by authorities and the population's reactions to the health challenge. Embedded in the theoretical field of Cultural History, the methodological basis for this research will be Content Analysis, as systematized by Laurence Bardin, allowing for the identification of recurring categories in the sources and shedding light on how Brazilian society faced and represented this pandemic experience, a little over a century ago, marked by profound challenges.
