Abstract: This study addresses the theme of rural succession, understood as a gradual process in which the successor assumes the management of the property. It also considers the relevance of family farming, responsible for the production of basic foods and food security in Brazil. The objective is to analyze the decision to participate in rural succession by undergraduate students from a public higher education institution located in the Ivinhema Valley – MS, identifying the main factors that influence this choice, through qualitative, descriptive research, with five semi-structured interviews weighted using content analysis techniques, conducted with rural successors. The research findings indicate that, for most of the interviewees, family dialogue about succession is still limited, which compromises the clarity in planning the continuity of the property. Among young people, the main attractions of life in the countryside are related to a higher quality of life and autonomy, highlighted by the absence of a boss. Conversely, long working hours, the lack of vacations and free weekends were perceived as negative aspects. The inheritance of the land, although present, proved insufficient to guarantee permanence, with financial return being identified as the true motivator. Low profitability, coupled with disinterest in rural life, was among the main reasons for leaving. Factors such as lack of technology, scarcity of opportunities, the pursuit of leisure, and the depreciative social view of rural areas, often associated with uneducated people, were also mentioned. These elements offer relevant contributions to the academic literature and can help both families and educational institutions to understand and face the challenges of rural succession.

Abstract: This study seeks to understand how employees of a credit union perceive
risk and make financial decisions. To achieve this, Prospect Theory, developed by
Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky (1979), was used as the foundation. The main
objective was to understand how these professionals manage their personal finances
and how they react in situations involving uncertainty and the possibility of losses. The
results showed that most participants have a conservative profile, preferring
guaranteed gains and avoiding higher risks, even when riskier alternatives could yield
equal or superior returns. This behavior confirms the certainty and isolation effects
described by Prospect Theory and is similar to what other studies in behavioral finance
have also found. Furthermore, despite having a high level of education and experience
in the field, the participants demonstrated being subject to cognitive biases. This point
reinforces the importance of training initiatives to broaden the understanding of risk
and decision-making.

Abstract: This study analyzed the financial decision-making process of Business Administration and Accounting students at the Nova Andradina Campus of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, in light of behavioral finance and Prospect Theory. This quantitative and descriptive research was conducted with 37 students using a structured questionnaire inspired by Kahneman and Tversky's classic scenarios (1979; 2012). The results showed that students exhibited risk aversion in gain situations and a risk-seeking tendency in loss scenarios, confirming the presence of certainty and reflection effects. The framing effect was also identified, as the presentation of the questions directly influenced choices. Furthermore, a preference for safer and more predictable investments was observed. The results obtained reinforce the importance of considering behavioral aspects in academic and professional training, given that even future administrators and accountants are subject to cognitive biases in their financial decisions.
