Abstract: "Cartography of the Invisible: Mirrored Eyes in Scenes of Expanded Audiovisual" investigates the relationships between the real and the fictional within the context of expanded audiovisual practices, focusing on the videoinstallation Insight (2012) by Sebastián Díaz Morales. Through a cartographic approach, the work seeks to understand the audiovisual device as an assemblage of images and sounds that generates new modes of perceiving the real. The analysis of the filmic object weaves together philosophy, aesthetic inquiry, and reflections on image technologies in order to consider a state of intersection among different media, circuits, and platforms. Attentive to the boundaries between reality and fiction, the research, understood as an inventory, proposes a cartography in which the gaze operates as an instrument for reflecting both on the work’s formal and narrative construction and on its condition as a device.
